Rules

• All films must be 15 minutes or shorter to be considered for screening during the regular program and to be eligible for awards. If you have a feature-length that you are interested in submitted, please e-mail the director of the festival, Dominic Inouye, at director@milwaukeespotlightfilms.org.
• All films must be submitted on DVD, and become the property of Milwaukee Spotlight. Films may be excerpted or used in full for promotional purposes on the website, promo videos, and future public screenings.
• All films must abide by PG-13 guidelines, with no gratuitous sexuality, gratuitous violence, or gratuitous strong language. Films must be appropriate for all ages.
• All music and video images must be original. You may request and receive permission to use music and other filmmakers’ video images, but this is often a lengthy (and costly) process.
  Suggestions: (1) Make and record your own music; (2) Get someone you know to make and record their songs; (3) Use royalty-free music available online (sometimes free, sometimes at minimal cost)
  All music should be credited in the end credits: (1) Name of songwriter; (2) Name of song; (3) Name of publisher or online source; (4) Copyright date
