2. • Dear Supporter of Youth & Film •
We invite you to donate to an exciting project: the 4th Annual Milwaukee Spotlight Student Film Festival, the first festival of its kind in Milwaukee. It will take place October 11–12, at Bucketworks.
Who are we? Milwaukee Spotlight is the first organization devoted solely to supporting young film visionaries in Milwaukee. Our mission is to celebrate and showcase their achievements in film with an annual film festival. Our partners include the Bucketworks, the Milwaukee International Film Festival, and MATA Community Media. The result of these partnerships is our upcoming fourth Student Film Festival by young people, for young people, and ultimately for all of us.
What have we accomplished? Over the past three years, over 100 individual filmmakers and 7 classes participated from 24 Wisconsin schools and 14 schools from 7 other states. Students from all over are getting the chance to produce and share their vision through film.
Why Sponsor? Your sponsorship will help area teens in the development and showcase of their films. Depending on your level of sponsorship, your generosity will be highlighted in various venues. We need the gifts of individuals like you who can get as excited as we are about our mission and our plans for the year. We would love to add you to our growing number of donors. There are many ways that you can help, both large and small. We encourage you to find out more about us at our website. Then, you can choose a tax-deductible dollar amount or gift in kind to donate to this exciting festival, such as filmmaking books, software, or equipment refreshments or production services. All individual donors will be listed in our program.
Whatever you choose to give will help recognize, celebrate, and showcase students’ voices and visions. Thank you for your time and consideration. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Yours in film—
Dominic Inouye
James Carlson
